Safety Policy

"Westralian Engineering Services regards the health and safety of its employees to be of prime importance."

The Company recognises its legal and moral responsibility to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, safe systems of work and competent supervision for all employees, subcontractors and any other person who may visit the work place or site works. The management team considers anything less to be unacceptable.

Key to the achievement of these goals is the identification and minimisation of hazards. These will be actively pursued. All employees are required and strongly encouraged to participate in the evolution of the Safety Management System by identifying hazards in the workplace and by providing suggestions for the improvement of safety in the workplace.

The aim of the Westralian Engineering Services' Safety, Health and Welfare Policy is to achieve the following goals:

  • Commitment to Best Practice.
  • Comply with all applicable Legislation, Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • To be decentralised and self-sustaining at each worksite.
  • Provide for all necessary information, training and supervision of the employees and sub-contractors.
  • Recognise the needs of the Client and provide assistance to achieve pre-determined goals.
  • Allow for consultation and co-operation between the company, employees and sub-contractors.
  • Recognise of the achievements of work groups and individuals.
  • To be fully measurable and auditable.
  • To be subject to regular review and, where necessary, revision.
  • Maintain a Rehabilitation Programme that places the needs of the injured employee and family at the forefront, and facilitates the early return to work of the injured employee on restricted / alternative duties.
  • Achieves a goal of zero lost-time injuries.
  • Ensures that all employees and sub-contractors co-operate and work together to achieve the stated objectives and by so doing assist in the prevention of injury to themselves and others.
